Who is eligible

Users with a Pinterest business account who can authorize BrandMilo through Pinterest’s official OAuth flow. Pinterest Trial Access is approved. Standard Access is not granted. Connection is currently limited to selected test workspaces. This page does not offer a general live production connect.

Permissions

Exact scope names must match current official provider documentation at implementation time. BrandMilo requests the minimum needed for visible features.

user_accounts:read	Identify the connected Pinterest account (GET /v5/user_account).
boards:read	List destination boards (GET /v5/boards).
boards:write	Required by Pinterest Create Pin (POST /v5/pins) in addition to pins:write. BrandMilo does not create, edit, or delete boards.
pins:read	Required on the official Create Pin security list; supports Pin status if reconciliation is used.
pins:write	Create Pins from approved drafts (POST /v5/pins).

Authorization

Users connect a Pinterest business account through Pinterest’s official OAuth Authorization Code flow. BrandMilo stores encrypted tokens and syncs boards for destination selection. Production Connect stays limited to selected test workspaces until Standard Access and a broader rollout.

Disconnect

Pinterest disconnect becomes available when Pinterest Connect is enabled. Until then, disconnect enabled integrations such as Etsy from Integrations. Imported drafts stay until you request deletion. Previously created Pins remain on Pinterest unless removed there.

Deletion

Delete BrandMilo drafts, publication history, and account data through Data & Privacy controls or the public Data Deletion page.

Intended user flow

Connect Pinterest → authorize through OAuth → read authorized boards → select a board → review and edit a BrandMilo draft → explicitly publish a Pin. No scraping, no Pinterest passwords, and no unattended mass posting.

Important limitation

Pinterest Trial is for controlled testing and validation. Broader user-facing availability remains subject to Standard Access. Production Connect is not enabled for every workspace.

Known limitations

Scheduling is managed by BrandMilo (application-side). Create Pin requests do not include a Pinterest publish_at field.
Created Pins and boards follow current Pinterest sandbox / Trial limits (often visible only to their creator). That is not Standard production publishing.
Standard Access is not granted. Pinterest Trial Access is approved for controlled validation only.
Connect, board sync, and publishing are limited to selected test workspaces after production credentials are configured. This is not general availability.
